Technology is majorly disrupting businesses at a supersonic speed and most people seem to welcome this disruption. Perhaps for the first time in our lives we are witnessing a phase of disruption that is increasingly being perceived as a good thing. If transformation is what we want to achieve, we must, both foster and accept disruption. This is true in our business lives as well as our individual lives. It is imperative for the business to become more agile, forward looking and decision centric – all of which is only possible by discarding the old and adopting the new.
The digital journey, though exciting, is tough and riddled with the unknowns. The world however believes that the time is ripe and the journey towards digital transformation is now irreversible. Investments both large and small are being made into technology related projects. The digitization of business is dramatically altering existing industries and creating new ones, amplifying business issues, shifting value propositions within and across industries, and changing the nature and conduct of business. Almost all new projects in the world are tech intensive.
Digital technology has already transformed the customer and supplier relationship. In fact, digital is now transforming how enterprises are structured, how they operate and how they manage and facilitate performance, including measuring, communicating, and acting on information to identify and help drive enterprise value creation. Armed with a digital foundation, and wide variety of digital tools that can dramatically improve the performance and efficiency of the business and increase the value it delivers, organizations are yielding tremendous improvements in the performance, efficiency and in the value it delivers.
In this noisy scenario, there are also a few doubts that continue to creep in. There are naysayers or fence sitters, not very convinced of the path and the progress. Some of these doubts are genuine and some myths.
In this direction SSF will facilitate deliberations on the key benefits of going digital and recommendations for dealing with the challenges. As thought leaders, business heads, practitioners and innovators we will attempt to be a contributor to the new age revolution that the Industry is witnessing today.
